We can't wait till the 2021 Harvest Festival!
We're so close, we just can't wait!
You asked and we heard you loud and clear… The Harvest Festival is BACK! And, with your help… it will be better than ever! We’ve got big plans but we need YOU! We need our students, teachers, school staff, parents, aunts, uncles, grandparents, community members, businesses... We need the whole Myakka community (and beyond!) to pull this off!
The 2021 MCES Harvest Festival is currently planned for Friday, October 22nd from 6pm - 8pm at the Myakka City Elementary School campus! We are planning to have games, a silent auction, The Food Vigilante food truck and Carousel's Soft-Serve Icery for dessert, and The Farm Experience bringing us some AMAZING animals for our petting zoo!
If you can help or you want to be involved - please reach out ASAP - MyakkaCityPTO@gmail.com! Myakka is AMAZING and you do NOT have to be a parent or guardian to help make this an amazing festival to remember for our students!
Parents, friends… the festival is only two hours and your help would be greatly appreciated! This is a GREAT opportunity for community service hours for your teens and any local youth organizations, we would LOVE to have your help!
If you’re an individual or a business looking to give back to your community and have a positive impact… Do we have the opportunity for you! Visit https://myakkacitypto.com/partners for details!!
Interested in helping but you can’t come early or stay too late? We’d love to have your help in setting up or taking down!
We are in need of a few large lights to help illuminate our field and areas around the school! If you have lights, we’d love to talk about borrowing them! We plan on returning to the “old school” festival layout - with games and activities throughout the school - so we would also love to borrow any “mosquito” repelling equipment, ideas appreciated!
We are planning to auction off some amazing baked goods as a FUNdraiser... and we need your help! If you can’t volunteer but you can bake… we’d love to talk!
Our teachers and staff have started working with their room parents to set up some awesome games and activities around the school, but if you have any festival/carnival games or access to something cool, we’d love to talk about borrowing it for the festival!
Our silent auction helps raise money for our kids and teachers, so if you have something cool you’d like to donate, we’ll take it off your hands! Gift cards, a basket of goodies… let us know!
Myakka’s festival used to feature a “sheriff” who would “arrest” your friends and put them in “jail” - a cattle trailer! We’d LOVE to bring this back, but we need a willing “sheriff” (and a few deputies!) and of course… the jail!
If you’re a local business, get your goods and your table ready because we would LOVE to open this up to local vendors! If you’ve got something cool to sell, visit https://myakkacitypto.com/vendors!
If you have any other ideas… we’d love to hear them! If you’ve got an idea and/or a contact, send them our way! We plan on encouraging costumes for students and may even host a contest or two!
